This curved chair with ebonised ash lattice back is a reproduction of the original from 1904, which belongs to the Glasgow School of Art. It was specially designed for the ground floor of the Willow Tearoom and was used as seating for the manager.
The backrest is wrapped around the seat like a scarf and defines a separate area in the room.

An object that requires a high degree of precision craftsmanship. This includes extremely complex manufacturing processes, such as the assembly of the individual elements of the frame, which is carried out by hand.

There is a flap under the seat. There is a storage space underneath. The production labelling and serial number can be found on the underside of the flap.

All original Cassina furniture is marked with
indelible markings, namely the author's signature, the Cassina logo and the serial number.

I Maestri" collection includes reproductions of the furniture

by the Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, for whose production Cassina signed contracts as early as 1972.

The Willow, Hill House and Argyle models were produced from 1973 onwards.

"Cassina I Maestri" is a study that looks at the original designs.
Together with relatives and workers, Cassina examines drawings, sketches, prototypes and other original documents in order to recreate the original project as accurately as possible.
Architect Filippo Alison Cassina, who has supported the collection since 1972, is helping to piece everything together and researching new materials and technologies to recreate the ideas of the masters.

Clean and well cared for. The seat cushion shows signs of use. Pleasingly good condition, ready to use.
