Because I have never discovered sharp edges on any person, I no longer want to believe that the objects we surround ourselves with must have sharp edges. Otto Zapf

This column table by Otto Zapf is a rare, early version with a bevelled edge, probably dating from 1967. Later models were made with rounded edges. The table has been restored and repainted in a classic red colour.

Made from fibreglass-reinforced plastic, it is a real statement piece in the room.

After restoration, the table was used, so slight signs of use are visible on the table surface, emphasising its authenticity and history. There are no defects.

Otto Zapf is considered a pioneer of German design and was recently honoured with an exhibition in his home town of Eschborn near Frankfurt. As early as the mid-1950s, he worked with Dieter Rams and founded the company Vitsœ + Zapf with the Dane Nils Vitsœ. With innovative furniture concepts, including modular seating and shelving systems made of plastic, Zapf made his mark on international furniture design and worked with renowned brands such as Knoll, COR and B&B Italia.

Slight signs of use are visible on the table surface, emphasising its authenticity and history. There are no defects.

The table top and base can be separated from each other using a thread.
