Eiermann began developing chairs made of tubular steel in 1951. His first chair with a frame made of tubular steel is a chair for an orchestra.

This SE 66 chair was designed in 1952 and is called the "SE 66 multi-purpose chair". It has a spring back and organically shaped seat and back surfaces made of plywood. The veneer is teak. This model was only produced for a short period of time. There are not many chairs of it on the market.
