After Günter Beltzig had completed his training as a machine fitter and studied industrial design at the Werkkunstschule Wuppertal, he founded the company 'Brüder Beltzig Design' together with his brothers Berthold and Ernst.
After working for many years as a designer for electrical appliances at Siemens, he specialised in the construction of plastic furniture in his own company. Since 1971, he has held various guest lecturer positions, including at Munich University of Applied Sciences, Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle and Leeds High School for Design. He has also worked as a freelancer for the Richter Spielgeräte company in Frasdorf since 1994.
