Frank Gehry's Hat Trick Chair is made from molded maple straps. Using a complex technique, the veneer strips are laminated to seven to nine layers with high-strength urea glue. The veneers run in the same direction to improve the spring properties. The backrests are flexible and increase seating comfort.
