Safari or Roorkee Chair.

The original design was intended for British civil servants who travelled "on official business" to the colonies. The designer of our chair, Wilhelm Kienzle, was inspired by the previous model. He used it to develop a chair for the living area. Kienzle's design was probably not mass-produced until after 1945 by the Swiss furnishing company Wohnbedarf and became a model for non-conformist and individual living in the post-war years. The frame is made of solid wood and has wooden joints. The armchair should be able to be dismantled without tools.
Covering made of black thick leather.

Pleasingly good original condition.
Visible signs of use, no defects.
Some belts have been renewed and replaced here.
Completely cleaned and maintained.
Ready to use.
