Poul M. Volther for Gemla

Poul M. Volther was born in 1923 and trained as a carpenter. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen and learned from designers such as Hans J. Wegner and Børge Mogensen. He did not like trends and instead experimented with new materials and ideas. He designed some classics like the EJ5 Corona Chair, which is influenced by Scandinavian functionalism.

Our Sunburst/ Goliat armchair has a black lacquered frame and loose cushions, covered with a wine-red fabric. This is the original fabric. The colour corresponds to RAL 3005.

The armchair is in a well-maintained original condition. It was completely cleaned and carefully refurbished by us. It is fully usable.
